Here are our team’s reasons as to why they joined Insight
Dibjeet, Director
I have always been involved in mentoring positions and the Insight Project is a cause I really believe in. I am looking forward to helping young people understand the pathways to law and breaking the glass ceiling that holds so many from achieving higher.
Abby, Deputy Director
I have been a member of the Insight Project since my first year of university and joined because the project is full of dedicated members, all aiming to offer students the best chances of accessing the legal profession.
Jasmin, Publicity Officer
I joined the Insight Project to share my passion for law with others and to make a positive impact in the local community.
Sharan, Publicity Officer
I joined the Insight Project to inspire and lead young minds to discover their passion for law and lead them in the direction towards it.
Husan, Semester 1 Wellbeing Officer
I joined the Insight Project as it allows me to build new relationships and to mentor students by highlighting law as an option to pursue post-graduation.
Mariah Onelum, Semester 2 Wellbeing Officer
I joined the Insight Project as I enjoy participating in community outreach centered around working with youth. This is something I believe the Insight Project will allow me to work on further.
Alistar, Events Coordinator
The Insight Project sparked my interest as it involves topics related to law, which is the area I’m specialising in. But I have always lacked interest in jobs that do not prioritise providing a service to those in need. Therefore, working with an organisation that aligns with my values is my top priority. I have always regarded this project as the best place for student volunteering/work experience due to the Pro Bono Society’s impeccable reputation as well as this project’s promotion of altruism, diversity and inclusion of those from a low socioeconomic background.
Parneet, Project Consultant
I joined the Insight Project to educate people on the JD Pathway.
Hakeem, Project Consultant
My reason for joining the Insight Project was to learn more about law and help highlight the presence of law in other fields.
Nikoleta, Project Consultant
The inspiration behind my decision to join the society is my eagerness to develop my knowledge about law, help others on the way and meet like-minded individuals.
Farheen, Team Leader
I joined this project because I believe in its aim. I cannot wait to encourage and help the younger generation with anything related to law.
Helen, Team Leader
I joined the Insight Project because of its dedication to demystifying law school methods of explaining possible routes into law for students who may otherwise have no insight into it. As law and topics covered within the degree can be very broad and overwhelming. Being able to give students a glimpse into law e.g. through mock trial presentations, to explore if it is something they may be interested in, is something I am very keen to be a part of.
Jordan, Team Leader
I joined the Insight Project because I want to share my passion for law with others and teach them why the law exists and why it is so important in our community.
Saher, Team Member
The Insight Project is valuable to me because I am passionate about bringing awareness to the legal sector and inspiring future generations to join it, especially students who come from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Stalin, Team Member
I joined the Insight Project to help steer youth on the right path by helping them discover their passion for law and academics.
Siriti, Team Member
I joined the Insight Project as it aims to educate and introduce students from underprivileged areas to topics concerning law. I believe that starting at a young age crafts a better future, especially for those who may be deprived of guidance and advice.
Gurjit, Team Member
I joined the Insight Project to make students in underprivileged areas aware of the opportunities in law, and the careers they can pursue from it.
Armaan, Team Member
I have been part of the project for all three years of my degree and although I am passionate about studying law, I also enjoy educating others in my free time making the Insight Project the perfect fit.
Danial, Team Member
I joined this project as I went to state-funded schools in underprivileged areas and wasn’t given much insight on law or the career prospects surrounding the law. Therefore, I would like to make a change to this so upcoming students can get this opportunity!
Lily, Team Member
I joined the Insight Project because I want to have an impact on people’s lives, and this project provides a perfect opportunity to do that whilst also helping to demystify the law for young people!
Ana, Team Member
I joined the Insight Project as my whole reason for studying law was to help people and the Insight project also does help with this.
Bassem, Team Member
I joined the Insight Project so that I can share my story of how I chose law and helping students peak their interest in law.
Maria, Team Member
After witnessing how volunteering and education change people’s lives, I wanted to continue Pro Bono work during my time at the University of Leicester. I knew this project would be very fulfilling since it combines Pro Bono while developing skills for a career in law.
Shbina Bola, Team Member
I joined the Insight Project as a way to share my passion for law and help young minds discover it as a career path for themselves as well.
Sam Gangani, Team Member
I joined the Insight Project to inform disadvantaged students in our community about what pursuing legal education is like.
Anubhooti Shrestha, Team Member
I joined the Insight Project because I want to reach young minds from diverse socio-economic backgrounds to protect the future generation of law through the exposure of legal knowledge and the myriad of possibilities that await them after law school.
Tejveer Brar, Team Member
I joined the Insight Project as a means of reaching out to youth who aren’t exposed to the field of law but nonetheless can succeed in it. Having worked with youth prior, I understand the significance of having a positive role model whom they can relate to.
